Void. Nothing...Summer is supposed to be a time of fun and relaxation but I find myself feeling the complete opposite. It's been quite a drag since our trip to U.S.A ended last April. Maybe it's because after that trip I began to ponder about my future; to what I am supposed to become and to where I will establish myself. I am not going to fool myself America is indeed a better place than the Philippines. The place itself beholds full of hope for many people who strive for a better future. It's this thought that is currently the cause of my recent paranoia. Is it too early to think of the future?? Maybe, but I am not holding myself back. I promised to myself that I will do my best during Medicine School in order to find a better future in the land of dreams. Hey! I only need to get 99+ in the exam to get in a program similar to that of Seattle Grace in Grey's Anatomy. How hard could that be??

In a totally different topic, I have just watched the season finale of Season 3 of Grey's Anatomy. The ending was quite sucky (for the characters) but a good cliffhanger (for the audiences). Spoilers Ahead: Well to put it frankly Burke and Christina didn't get married. (Yeah that sucked) Bailey didn't get Chief Resident (Callie got it). George failed his intern exam and looks to be leaving the program and Shepherd refuses the position of Chief of Surgery. Yeah that how sucky it went. I was literally speechless on how it all turned out. Maybe the next season will mend all these fiasco. Hopefully Heroes will have a better season finale this coming Monday. Can't wait to download it.

Off to a different note here are some of the "nice pics" taken during our month-long trip to USA. Overall it was really worth our time but God was it tiring. Everyday we were on the move, state hopping, plane rides and long road trips became our habits. Who could also forget the enormous size of the foods being served to us. I'm telling you, if you place some of the kids in Africa in USA for about a month, no doubt they'll gain weight. During the length of the trip we visited 9 states (Illinois, Colorado, Virginia, Maryland, District of Columbia, Florida, Nevada, Arizona & California), rode in 10 flights, plus a quick stopover in Japan and travelled at least 5,000 miles.

I was recently browsing some of the pictures taken from our trip to USA when I stumbled to this one. Yep! That's me, I was LMAO because of the weird facial expression. Well you can't blame someone who is currently standing in an environment with a temperature of -4 °C wearing only a sweater. Shot was taken @ Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

So what's so special about this red house. Well it's the house of George Washington and we were able to go inside it. Cool. Shot was taken @ Mt. Vernon, Virginia.

Behold, the most dysfunctional family you'll ever meet. Man, it was freezing cold when this picture was taken...I am already wearing three layers of clothes and I still feel like a popsicle. Shot was taken @ downtown Chicago, Illinois

I really enjoyed our trip to the nation's capital (Washington DC) since we got to see some of the famous landmarks, like this one, the Lincoln Memorial...

and here is Abe Lincoln himself...well the statue of course...

Isn't the view panoramic. This is what made the whole trip worth it. That's the Sierra Nevada. Shot was taken @ Yosemite National Park in California

Caution: Avalanche Area. Seriously the road we were passing was indeed prone to avalanche. Good thing we came there during April. Shot was taken @ Aspen, Colorado.

So what's so special about this shot. Look at the sign at the far left corner. It says Key West, well FYI it is the southernmost city of Continental America. Only 109 miles more to Cuba and to Fidel Castro. Shot was taken @ Key West, Florida.

Well you get the message.

There's one thing I want to say, so I'll be brave
You were what I wanted
I gave what I gave
I'm not sorry I met you
I'm not sorry it's over
I'm not sorry there's nothing to save

I'm not sorry there's nothing to save...

Title of entry refers to a song by Starsailor

Tabula rasa. To those who aren't familiar to this latin term, it refers to a proposed thesis that individual human beings are born with no innate or built-in mental content, in a word, "blank", and that their entire resource of knowledge is built up gradually from their experiences and sensory perceptions of the outside world. So it's pretty clear that each and everyone of us needs a bit of help and practice in order to develop a certain skill. That's why there are teachers, professors, instructors and even parents. We need someone who has already mastered a certain skill to teach and guide us in order for us to understand the concept. The thing that I don't understand is that why do certain people lose their patience when their students struggle to understand the concept. Yeah, many will say that their just human so give them a break; but my point is shouldn't they channel their frustrations in another way??

One good example happened today; when I was struggling to park the car properly. For now I am currently at the learning phase of driving a car and while I think I am doing well I have to admit the fact that I (currently) suck at reverse parking. So back to the point, I felt aggravated by the fact that my dad was losing his mind at me for not being able to get it for apparently in only two tries. I know I'm not perfect and I can still improve but I just didn't see a valid reason for that asshole to lose his cool on me. Just the mere negativity emanating from him made me uncomfortable and unenthusiastic to learn. Yeah that moment made me hate my dad more. (As if I don't hate him enough already). Maybe I'm speaking too harsh but if any person would be in my shoes I guarantee that one way or another you'll feel the same way as I do.

So my point is that people who are serving as mentors shouldn't lose their cool to their students since it only discourages them from trying harder. They should try to understand that not every skill on the book is learned at first hand; they should also learn to distinguish that not everyone has the same learning capabilities. So having said that I generally conclude that my Dad is a f***ing asshole. Yeah that's how it's gonna be...

In another totally different note; I, alongside with my dysfunctional family, went to watch Shrek 3 just to satisfy the constant whining of my brother. For goodness sake he's already 17 and he still whines like a toddler. Well, sorry for those who loved it, but I thought the whole movie sucked and was quite dragging. There wasn't any scene that made me laugh out loud. It was pretty much dull and more of a cliché to me.

Ok this is some random clip from Family Guy that I stumbled upon in youtube. (Caution: Don't watch this while eating)

Watch this...it's an entry to the reality show On the Lot and this one is made by a Filipino.

Cool. Be proud to be a Filipino.

So one last touch and then you'll go and we'll pretend that it meant something so much more
But it was vile and it was cheap and you are beautiful but you don't mean a thing to me
Yeah, you are beautiful but you don't mean a thing to me.
Yeah, you are beautiful but you don't mean a thing to me.

The title refers to a song by David Bowie

I've just watched the season finale of Heroes yesterday and all I could say is that it was a job well done. Though, the beginning was quite dull, the last few minutes proved to be exhilarating. This is a proof of my claim:

Oh yeah, take that Sylar!! Hiro's not also the only one who gets a piece of Sylar...See picture below.

Sylar's was no match to Jessica/Niki's superhuman strength.

So in the end everything is safe (for now). Peter did blow up only to be helped by Nathan by flying him into the sky to explode. The fate of the two is still unknown. Sylar may not also be dead after all based on the ending and the obvious absence of his dead body. But in the end we should all be thankful to the great Hiro Nakamura for saving the fate of mankind (or just the mankind in New York). Currently Hiro, despite his great heroism, somehow managed to time travel to 15th century Japan and is currently in big trouble. Here's a pic.

Can't wait for the new season which will be aired I think in September (in USA) but no worries for all Pinoy fans, torrents are availabe at various sites such as Mininova. Episode pictures are courtesy of the Heroes' official website

I never knew the taste of blood till now
It's clear I never should have known
Breathing fire was never this much fun
So there's a dark side in us all

I haven't been feeling quite well lately...Yeah, this is just one of those frequent times wherein depression has once again invaded my soul. Seriously, I'm pretty tired of all these negativities but I just can't seem to avoid them. Can somebody give me some prozac or zoloft?? (or any other anti-depressant out there...) Seriously, it really feels pathetic to be suffering from this sort of mental disorder because not only that it makes you physically, mentally and emotionally weak but it also alienates you from other people (e.g. friends, families, etc.). If this disorder persists on me I wouldn't even be surprised if I committ suicide one day...

Okay, that's enough emotional outpour (...or whatever crap you can call it) for the day. I have just finished my enrollment at UST this morning and I've come to realize that our schedule sucks big time!! Not only that we have classes up to 7pm for three days, but also a 7am - 7pm schedule. It's really getting into my nerves that our sections keeps on getting progressively worse schedules as each semester passes while the contrary has been happening to other sections... and this is our 3rd year already; the make or break moment of our future as students taking up Med Tech. But just as I have said this morning, Bring it on!! Here's our schedule by the way and I guarantee that all of you will think that it sucks...
